Mr. Grant Jou, the founder of JOU AND JOU Patent Offices, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from National Taiwan University in 1974 and later studied at Tokyo University in Japan from 1979 to 1982, under the support of a scholarship from Japanese Government.  He also received a bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B.) from National Taiwan University in 1992.  Grant is a unique patent attorney in Taiwan who has both law and engineering (mechanical) backgrounds and possesses a good command of English, Japanese, Chinese, and Taiwanese.  He started his career in the field of intellectual property in 1982 and became a registered patent attorney in 1986.  He has represented many world-wide famous companies to file more than ten thousands patent or trademark applications.  These companies include Japanese, US, Taiwanese, Korean, European companies.  Moreover, he is a member of Asian Patent Attorney Association (APAA) and Taiwan Patent Attorneys Association (TWPAA). 

Mr. David Jou graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University in 1986. In 1989, he received a scholarship from Japanese Government to study at Tohoku University in Japan.  He started his career in the field of intellectual property in 1994 and joined JOU AND JOU Patent Offices in 1995. In 1998, he became a registered patent attorney.  David is a patent attorney who has technical backgrounds in electrical engineering and information science and possesses a good command of English, Japanese, Chinese, and Taiwanese.  He has represented many world-wide famous companies to file more than ten thousands patent or trademark applications.  These companies include Japanese, US, Taiwanese, Korean, European companies.  One thing worthy of mention about David is that he helped one Japanese client to successfully license their patents to some Taiwanese companies as a licensor.  In addition, he is a member of Taiwan Patent Attorneys Association (TWPAA), Asian Patent Attorney Association (APAA) and other IP related associations.  He has been voted as a director (2009-2012) and a supervisor (2012-2015) of TWPAA.  Furthermore, he has been voted as a supervisor (2012-2015) and a director (2015-2018) of APAA.
